When is the right time to book?

We strongly encourage all of our clients to at least secure their date and venue before booking. This helps ensure a smooth booking process, and avoid service reschedules, and cancellations.

Do I need to schedule a trial before I book?

Trials are a separate service and completely optional! A trial is not required to secure your booking.

When and where are trials held?

Trials are typically held at Mimi's Home studio in Bristow, VA during the day on Mondays - Thursdays. This is because most of the team is booked Friday - Sundays!

What do you recommend for extensions and extension prep?

Accepted Answer

The quality of Hair by Mimi's styling requires the extensions to be 100% human hair. Hair by Mimi recommends purchasing extensions from Bellami.com. There are also additional options available on Mimi's Amazon store. We suggest a minimum of 24" and at least 240 grams of clip in extensions.

Before your event we recommend washing the extensions out of the box with a clarifying shampoo to strip off the factory sheen, gently pat dry with a hand towel, then left to air dry in hair extension provided drying device/hanger/etc. Upon drying, gently brush them out.

Does Hair by Mimi blow dry/cut/or color hair?

How should I prepare my hair and face before the event?

Hair:
We recommend washing your hair the night before and letting it completely air dry. Do not blow dry :-).

Makeup:
We recommend ensuring your face is moisturized by using a face cream for the week leading up to your event. The day of, please ensure you arrive with a clean face.

How do destinations weddings work?

Hair by Mimi is willing to travel to any venue a client desires. We kindly request overnight accommodations at the venue where the services will be rendered and reimbursements for airfare and transportation if needed.

Are hair and makeup trial runs included in my premium booking?

No, this will be a separate service on a different date.

Question 9

Does Hair by Mimi offer touch-up services?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Hair by Mimi artists can return to the venue to touch up an existing hair and/or makeup style. If a new or change in style is requested a second service is required. Hair by Mimi artists cannot touch up another artist's work.
